9. What book was so bad that you didn’t even finish it?
The first Fifty Shades book was badly written and the worst example of copy/paste story writing that I have ever read. It was a fanfic based on Twilight - another book I could just NOT gel with, though I think Meyer did a far better job. The thing is, the people in the BDSM community were horrified as the relation between 'Master' and 'Servant' was far more respectful and loving - the theory being that E.L. James had no idea as to the REAL psychology between the M/S and it was damaging to the BDSM community, not to mention impressionable young girls, who could think that abusive relationships were ok, projecting their situations as similar to the Ana/Christian ethos. Wrong. Just plain wrong. Some people prefer the Secretary book by Mary Gaitskill, the film starred Maggie Gyllenhaal. It was certainly better written.
