Well, I have a temporary job between now until the middle of December - I hade applied for it early last month, only to be told that although I had made the short list, I wasn't lucky on this occasion. They then called me up four days later and gave me another job. Good - would like something more permanent, but basically all I want for now is to get my car (nicknamed 'Scrapheap Challenge') through its MOT and for my mobile bill to be met for the next couple of months. Xmas is going to be as tight as a mallard's fundament this year.
Re Goldfrapp's Everything is Never Enough (Chris Liebing Burn Slow Remix), it kinda reminds me of a very slow version of Donna Summers' State of Independence and the more I listen to it, the more of Vangelis' influence comes through. I prefer the Jon & Vangelis version, which partly reminds me of Supertramps' earlier hit Take the Long Way Home (probably because that Jon Anderson and Roger Hodgson have similar vocal patterns). Well, at least I can recognise the musical parentage, though I far prefer Goldfrapp's original mix of Everything is Never Enough
Donna Summer - State of Independence
Jon & Vangelis - State of Independence
Supertramp - Take the Long Way Home
Anyhoo- out early and facing a new day with a new job at the firm that I am already familiar with. Wish me luck :-)
