Well, I am back to the desk again after a three week break and I have started to look at my book mountain that I have to read. I am starting with Emile Zola - The Ladies' Paradise and will have to read James Joyce's Ulysses for starters. I have already mentioned Mansfield, Woolf and Lawrence, plus the telephone directory-sized Modernism book (as id PoMo wasn't enough).
I have started to read Margaret Attwood's The Handmaid's Tale and I have the following on my list: Charlotte Perkins Gilman - Herland; Bertolt Brecht - The Caucasian Chalk Circle and Iris Murdoch's The Sea, The Sea. Still undecided re my major dissertation. Kinda thinking about water imagery presented in various classics. Who knows? I need to think this out.
